Das H.O.M.E. war dieses Jahr auf der Gulaschprogrammiernacht, einem Event / einer Konferenz des Chaos Computer Clubs, genauer dessen Karlsruher Ortsgruppe Entropia.

Aber was ist diese Gulaschprogrammiernacht eigentlich?

“Die Gulaschprogrammiernacht (kurz: GPN) ist ein 4-tägiger Kongress, der vom Entropia e.V. (CCC Karlsruhe) einmal jährlich veranstaltet wird. Der Name ist bei der GPN wörtlich zu nehmen, denn immer wieder schafft es auch ein Haufen Hacker[*innen] eine große Menge Gulasch zuzubereiten, um die Gäste zu nähren, damit sie gestärkt zum nächsten Vortrag – über Programmierung oder Gesellschaft – oder zum Programmieren ins Hackcenter gehen können.” ~ Entropia.de/GPN

Auf der Gulaschprogrammiernacht sind sowohl technisch-informatische, als auch gesellschaftlich-politische Themen anzutreffen. Auch für Menschen ohne primären Technikbezug ist die Veranstaltung ein sozialer Treffpunkt.

Und was tut das H.O.M.E. da?

Das H.O.M.E. ist als Maker*innenspace sowie durch den neu ins Leben gerufenen Chaostreff Hack@HOME längst Teil der Technik- und Hackendenszene geworden. Die Gulaschprogrammiernacht ist eines der zentralen Events dieser Szene und des Chaos Computer Clubs (CCC) – ein idealer Ort also, um sich zu vernetzen, weiterzubilden, neue Menschen kennenzulernen und spannende Erfahrungen zu sammeln.

Wie viele andere Hackenden- und Maker*innenspaces hatten auch wir die Möglichkeit, unsere Arbeit und unser Projekt vorzustellen – mit einer kleinen, aber feinen Ecke auf der GPN.

Wir vom H.O.M.E. haben viele interessante Gespräche geführt, neue Kontakte geknüpft und uns mit anderen Spaces ausgetauscht. Wir freuen uns darauf, einige dieser Menschen wiederzusehen und hoffen, dass daraus auch die eine oder andere Kooperation entsteht.

Die Atmosphäre auf der GPN war insgesamt sehr angenehm. Es herrschte ein starker Saferspace-Charakter – man hatte sofort das Gefühl, einfach so sein zu dürfen, wie man ist. Ein vorurteilsarmer Raum, in dem Vielfalt willkommen ist und in dem man sich traut, Neues auszuprobieren. Eine offene, respektvolle und kreative Umgebung, die inspiriert und verbindet.

“The Gulaschprogrammiernacht (Engl.: Goulash Programming Night | GPN for short) is a 4-day congress organized once a year by Entropia e.V. (CCC Karlsruhe). The name is to be taken literally at the GPN, because a bunch of hackers always manage to prepare a large amount of goulash to nourish the guests so that they can go to the next lecture – about programming or society – or to the Hackcenter to program.”

The GPN covers both technical and informational as well as social and political topics. The event is also a social meeting place for people without a primary connection to technology.

And what is the H.O.M.E. doing there?

The H.O.M.E. is a makerspace and has been part of the technology and hacking scene at least since the newly founded chaos meeting Hack@HOME. The Goulash Programming Night is one of the central events of this scene and of the Chaos Computer Club (CCC) – an ideal place to network, learn more, meet new people and gain exciting experiences.

Like many other hacking and maker spaces, we also had the opportunity to present our work and our projects – with a small but nice corner at the GPN.

We at H.O.M.E. had many interesting conversations, made new contacts and exchanged ideas with other spaces. We look forward to seeing some of these people again and hope that this will lead to some collaborations.

Overall, the atmosphere at the GPN was very pleasant. There was a strong saferspace character – you immediately had the feeling that you could just be who you are. A space with few prejudices, where diversity is welcome and where people dare to try out new things. An open, respectful and creative environment that inspires and connects.
